Collage"Imagination is the true magic carpet"!
Most of my collage work has been three dimensional until recently. Unusual and vibrant color is importantin my work. I enjoy mixing my own color palette to create painted paper. Texture is also an important element. I love the interesting and surprising shapes and textures that happen when I use various implements into the wet paper. This is the best part for me, where I "see" the beginning of a story, which guides me as to what to look for to add to the collage. Using a combination of images, photos, painted paper, cut and torn and sometimes with text, combined with sanding, and various washes, add to the layers I plan and build upon. Occasionally I will use handmade stamping gels over an image as it gives a glowing effect.
